“7Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?
8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,
10 even there your hand will guide me,
your right hand will hold me fast.”
This week, Lorie is in Tucson. Yesterday evening, I came in from work, fed the dogs, ate some dinner and then spent an hour on the rebuild of our privacy fence. Afterwards, I went for a run, before coming back and working out. We really enjoy our new home and neighborhood. I have a certain trek that takes me around the park and pond. It was a perfect day and running on the path through the trees around the park I felt God’s presence (no intended rip-off of Chariots of Fire dialogue). While running, I began to think of all my blessings. I can truly relate to David’s words, “My cup overflows.” I am owed nothing and I deserve nothing; God is just loving, and merciful, and gracious beyond imagination.
When I got home, Psalm 139 came to mind. The depth and beauty of the Psalmist’s words. Wherever I go, God is with me.
